When is Miami Carnival 2023?

When is Miami Carnival 2023?

Miami Carnival is here and everyone's excited for the festivities to begin! So where exactly is Miami Carnival? If you're not from around these parts, it can be hard to find out what time and place the parade will be. Luckily we have some tips for you so that you can prepare yourself for this year's most exciting event in Miami!

Official Events

There are three official Miami Carnival 2023 events will be at the the Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds (10901 SW 24th Street, Miami, FL)

Closest Airports

The closest airport to fly into is Miami International Airport (MIA). Travel time from MIA to the event location is about 10 miles or 25 min without traffic.

The second closest airport is Ft. Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Travel time from FLL to the event location is about 40 miles or 1 hour without traffic.

Accommodations Near Event Location

If your looking to stay close to the events, definitely look for accommodations in these cities.

  • Sweetwater
  • Tamiami
  • Doral
  • Kendall

Note that the event location is quite west or inland from the beaches. So if you are trying to plan a stay that has some beach time, staying near the event location is probably not your best option.

Accommodations Near Fetes and Parties

Most of the fetes and parties that are thrown on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are no where near the event location! So its a good idea to map out where the fetes you are going to go are before booking accommodations.

Most fetes and parties will either be on South Beach, Wynwood, or Brickell in Miami with other events being held in Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood, Sunrise.

If you are looking to stay close to the action or fetes, definitely look for accommodations in these cities.

Miami Events

  • South Beach
  • North Beach
  • North Miami Beach
  • Edgewater
  • Downtown Miami
  • Brickell
  • Wynwood

Ft. Lauderdale Events

  • Downtown Ft. Lauderdale
  • Plantation
  • Sunrise
  • Hollywood
  • Dania Beach

Some Areas to Avoid!

If you are visiting Miami for the first time, first me say its a safe city! But like all cities there are some places that you may want to avoid on your first visit. I wouldn't recommend staying Lauderhill, Little Hatti, Overtown, Allapattah or Opa-Locka.
