Carnival is On! The Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Tourism has announced that there will be Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago for 2022! However, don't just book your flights yet. There will be no road mas, parades, fetes or j'ouvert. Only concert-type shows to exhibit. 2022 will just be a "Taste of Carnival" this year.
All carnival events will be held in safe zones to be determined by the ministry and limited to 50% capacity.
Proposed Carnival 2022 Trinidad Events
Events will take the form of concert-type shows such as soca and calypso concerts; calypso tents; soca, calypso, extempo and chutney competitions; steelband concerts; Carnival King and Queen shows; and Carnival theatre.
No actual performances or events have been announced but a calendar of events is currently being drafted for publication.
Will there be bands or road march for Trinidad Carnival 2022?
Don't go looking to book your costume this year! There will be no road events or fetes. But there will still be some great events to show off your best CarnivalMW looks!
